The S.C. United Mount Pleasant U11 Revolution soccer team won the Carolina Elite Soccer Academy Fall Challenge tournament in a shootout last weekend in Greenville.

SCUMP trailed two goals in the first half but climbed back by the second to tie the match and force overtime. After two overtime periods, the match was pushed to sudden-death penalty kicks where Charles Chaves found the back of the net to claim a 7-6 championship win for SCUMP.

“The Revolution kept their nerve on a bitterly cold night,” Revolution head coach Sean Brazil said. “It’ made the long drive home a lot easier.”

SCUMP was 2-0-1 in its bracket, with wins of 6-3, 1-0 and a 3-3 tie, to move into the championship round.
