During the month of October and November, Christ Church Day School led a book drive to support James Simons Elementary School. The goal was to collect 1,500 books.

School staff was so excited when the books came pouring into the preschool from school families, parishioners, teachers and friends. In fact, the used book drive was such a success that the school was able to give to another school as well.

Late in November, hundreds of books were delivered to James Simons and Burns elementary schools. School leaders wanted to come alongside these elementary schools and show them the power of Godís love.

Now the media specialists, literacy coaches and teachers from these schools will be able to enhance their teaching units, develop classroom libraries and help the students create home libraries with this abundance of books.
