On Dec. 20, The Hobcaw Garden Club conducted its annual Christmas Decoration Contest.

The committee selected what they felt were the three overall best outdoor Christmas decorations in Hobcaw Point.

It was a difficult decision as so many homes are beautifully decorated, said Steve Hanlon, one of the judges.

In the end, what seemed to capture the judges’ eye was the overall Christmas Spirit that the decorations exemplified.

Peggy Gale, president, said, “If at all possible, everyone should ride through our community and tune your radio to some Christmas carol music.

Congratulations to this year’s winners.

First place went to Robert and Tullulah McCants. Second place was, Ruthie and Mack Gignilliat.

Third place went to Richard Mulligan who’s boat was decorated like a shrimp boat with Santa at the bow. A wooden tree is located on each front yard denoting each winner.
