The Mount Pleasant Recreation Department in cooperation with Darkness To Light is offering complimentary admission tickets to Charleston’s Inaugural Medal Of Honor Bowl scheduled for 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 11 at the Johnson Hagood Stadium.
Mount Pleasant Town Councilman Gary Santos donated his left over campaign funds to Darkness to Light, a sexual abuse prevention organization.
He made the donation, on behalf of the Mount Pleasant Recreation Foundation and himself, of $3,078.55 to the “Darkness to Light” organization in order to support sending hundreds of kids to the Medal of Honor Bowl Game on Jan. 11 at Johnson Hagood Stadium. Some of these funds will also be used for training Mount Pleasant Recreation Department’s youth coaches to assist “Darkness to Light” in ending child sexual abuse. “It is an honor to support these two wonderful organizations, Darkness to Light and the Mount Pleasant Recreation Department, with this donation,” he said. “By donating these funds, we are able to send hundreds of children to the Medal of Honor Football Bowl Game on Saturday and also support the fight against child sexual abuse through the training of our recreation department coaches to recognize the signs of abuse. By working together, we can all help end child sexual abuse in our community.”
