Special delivery

  • Saturday, January 11, 2014

Officials at the Post Office told undercover officers that a package was being delivered to a local residence and it may have drugs in it. Police then set up surveillance and watched the package be delivered to the home in question.

They then went to the home and spoke to the woman of the house. The elderly woman had placed the package on the floor by the door.

The officers explained why they were there and what might be in the package. She asked them to get the package out of her house because she did not want anything illegal in her home and the package wasn’t even addressed to her. She explained that the recipient lived in a house behind hers and that the name on the package wasn’t even that person’s real name.

The officers took the package out of the house and opened it. Sure enough there was marijuana inside of it. They were able to track down the intended recipient whose name was similar to the one on the package. He said he used a different name and address so as not to get caught. But that was not to be and he was charged with intent to distribute and intent within the vicinity of a park.
