Coastal rolls past Lowcountry Christian

Coastal Christian jumped out of region to knock off Lowcountry, 56-39, Monday at home. FRANKIE MANSFIELD

The Coastal Christian Cougars snapped a two-game skid Monday with a 56-39 home win over Lowcountry Christian Home Educators Wildcats.

Raequan Gregg scored a game-high 22 points for Coastal. Junior guard Seth White added 18 on 9-13 shooting. The Cougars shot 45 percent from the floor as a team.

Coastal (4-5, 1-1) limited Lowcountry to just three made field goals in the first quarter, while Gregg and White combined for 20 points to help the Cougars open a 16-point lead.

Lowcountry managed only 13 points in the second and third quarter combined while Coastal built a lead as large as 29 points.

Caleb Byerly led Lowcountry with 14 points. Josh Dale and Ben Stauffer each added eight.

Friday, Coastal jumps back into region play on the road against St. John's Christian at 7 p.m. //
