The U.S. Kids Golf Charleston Spring 2014 Tour tees off Feb. 2 at the Dunes West Country Club.
U.S. Kids Golf Local Tours provide boys and girls, ages 5 to 14, the opportunity to advance their golf skills in age-appropriate competition without having to take the time and incur the costs of having to travel long distances.
The tour is moving from Myrtle Beach to Charleston this year and is one of 53 U.S. Kids Golf tours nationwide.
“The U.S. Kids Golf Local Tour is a great opportunity for kids of all abilities to play in a competitive environment,” said Greg Ray, Director of the Charleston Local Tour. “The golf course is a great place for kids to learn valuable lessons that will help them throughout their life.”

Similar to the PGA Tour, players at U.S. Kids Golf events are encouraged to have caddies to help them play their best. Allowing caddies is a special component of our tournaments and is part of our commitment to encouraging family interaction that builds lasting memories. Players 8 and under must have a caddie at all times.
The top five finishers in each age group will receive priority status from U.S. Kids Golf, granting them priority registration for major events. The Player of the Year in each age group will receive green status, the highest level awarded, which results in an invitation to the World Championship, held each year at Pinehurst Resort.

U.S. Kids Golf Foundation
The U.S. Kids Golf Foundation, a Georgia non-profit recognized as a 501(c)(3) charity, was created in 2001 and provides services that include competition and instruction. The Foundation organizes more than 700 golf tournaments for kids each year, including Local Tours in more than 50 cities, ten Qualifiers across the nation, eight Regional Championships, a European Championship and the U.S. Kids Golf World Championship and Teen World Championship, which are held each year in Pinehurst, N.C.
In partnership with the PGA of America, the Foundation also supports the U.S. Kids Golf Family Course program, which provides guidelines that help courses make the game easier to learn and more fun for kids and their families.
