The Palmetto Christian Eagles stayed perfect in region play Friday with a 60-40 win over Dorchester Academy at home.
Dorchester (12-1, 2-1) was limited to its second-lowest point total of the season in its first loss. Palmetto Christian's 60 points scored are tied for the most Dorchester has allowed. The win moves Palmetto Christian into sole possession of first place in Class 2A Region II.
Will Tuchfarber led the Eagles with 13 points and eight rebounds. Joe Siegwald and Chris DeMarco both added nine, while J.T. Water and Mitch Hogan turned in eight each.
Palmetto Christian (6-7, 3-0) limited Dorchester to just seven points in the first quarter to build a seven-point lead. Dorchester narrowed the gap to four by halftime, but Palmetto Christian answered with an 18-point third quarter.
The Eagles sealed the game with their defense late, allowing Dorchester just seven points in the fourth quarter while they extended their advantage.
