Coastal falls short against Cathedral

Coastal Christian had a potential game-winner clank off the front iron Tuesday in overtime of a 62-60 loss to Cathedral Academy at home.

Raequan Gregg carried Coastal (3-7, 1-5) into overtime with a game-tying shot in the final seconds of regulation. Gregg scored nine in the fourth quarter and all seven of Coastal’s points in overtime. He finished with a team-high 26 points.

Cathedral’s Drew Murray led all scorers with 28 points, 13 in the fourth quarter and overtime. Christian Rodgers added 22.

Coastal held Cathedral (6-11, 3-3) to just eight points through the first quarter. Murray and Rodgers heated up in the second, combining for 17 of Cathedral’s 18 points.

Sam Fletcher added 10 points, Seth White seven and Aaron Schnupp six for Coastal.
