Not that I know of
An officer noticed a car drive past him that did not have the proper tail lights. He pulled behind the vehicle and ran the tag. The car came back as being registered out of Huger. The driver suddenly pulled into a nearby neighborhood, and due to the abruptness, this caused suspicion.
The officer initiated a traffic stop and asked the couple where they were going. The driver said they were going to a friend's house in the neighborhood but he didn't know where exactly this person lived.
The report said that the driver seemed very nervous and avoided eye contact with the officer.
In addition, the officer could smell the odor of marijuana in the car and asked the pair if there was anything illegal in the car.
Both said there was nothing.
The driver was asked to step out of the car and again she was asked if there was anything illegal in the car. She said there should not be anything in the car that she didn't know about.
She then was asked why they were in this neighborhood and she said she thought she was bringing her friend to another neighborhood.
The pair's stories did not match up.
She gave the officer consent to search her car and the passenger confessed to the officer that she had a jar of weed in a bag in the back seat, according to the report.
The officer also found a grinder and a pipe.
The passenger was charged with simple possession and possession of paraphernalia.
The driver was warned for the lighting violations.
