Wando and Bishop England boys and girls soccer each claim spots at the top of their classes in this season's S.C. Soccer preseason polls.

The defending state champion Wando Lady Warriors return this season ranked No. 1 in the state, along with the Wando boys who look to avenge an early exit from last season's playoffs.

J.L. Mann, last season's state championship runner-up, enters the season ranked No. 2 in the Class 4A girls poll, followed by South Aiken at No. 3. J.L. Mann claims No. 2 in the boys 4A poll as well, ahead of No. 3 Dutch Fork, who eliminated Wando in the second round of last season's playoffs.

Bishop England boys sit atop Class 2A as defending state champions and are ranked No. 18 in the state. The Lady Bishops are ranked No. 2 in Class 2A after making it to the Lower State championship game last season.

Academic Magnet boys are No. 2 in Class 2A after falling to the Bishops in last season's Lower State Championship, while defending 2A state champion Academic Magnet girls claim No. 1.

Tryouts and practice begin Monday for preps soccer. Scrimmages and preseason tournaments follow throughout February with the season kicking off in early March.
