Robert Ivey Ballet receives grant from S.C. Arts Commission

  • Saturday, February 8, 2014

The Robert Ivey Ballet has been awarded a $1,278 grant by the South Carolina Arts Commission for the current fiscal year. The support will allow the organization to continue to provide quality classical ballet performances on public stages and to provide exposure to classical ballet for school audiences.

Several companies, organizations, and individual donors are helping the Robert Ivey Ballet meet its obligation of matching the Arts Commission grant with local dollars.

Local residents can see how the Arts Commission grant and local funds are benefiting the Robert Ivey Ballet by attending upcoming performances. FASCINATIONS 3.0, a collaborative effort of the Robert Ivey Ballet, local artists, and the Orchestra from the Charleston County School of the Arts, will be March 28 - 29 at the Sottile Theatre in Charleston. The Velveteen Rabbit, a special treat for the very young crowd, can be seen on April 12 at the Charleston Museum.
