  • Monday, February 10, 2014

Seth White and Raequan Gregg combined for 44 points Friday to help Coastal Christian to a 71-39 road win at Lowcountry Prep.

Coastal (7-10, 2-7) blew the game open with its defense, allowing Lowcountry just one made field goal in the third quarter while White poured in 15 points to open a 33-point lead.

The Cougars limited Lowcountry to nine or fewer points in three quarters. Gregg finished with 22 points, seven rebounds, and White 22 points, six boards. Will Hollingsworth added 11 points and five rebounds for Coastal.

Tristan Teems led Lowcountry with nine points, scoring seven in the first half but managing just two in the second.

Coastal now switches its focus to the SCISA Class A Region III tournament, beginning Thursday at Cathedral Academy. As the No. 5 seed, Coastal will face No. 4 seed Cathedral in the opening round. Coastal narrowly missed a game-winner in the final seconds of overtime against Cathedral late in January.
