Spring in the South Carolina Lowcountry is marked each year by blooming jasmine, longer days and – for the past 18 years – Sperry Top-Sider Charleston Race Week, a regatta unlike any other.
What sets this event apart is its unique combination of heightened competition across a wide spectrum of sailboat designs and superb Southern hospitality, each in abundance.
But there’s another factor that has come to characterize this bucket-list event for sailors from across the U.S., and that’s the unusually strong commitment exhibited by the event’s sponsors.
Sperry Top-Sider, a global performance leader in technical footwear and gear for sailors, has been the title sponsor of the regatta for five years now.
“Sailing is at the core of our heritage and we are excited to return as the title sponsor of Sperry Top-Sider Charleston Race Week,” offered Sperry Top-Sider President Craig Reingold.
“This highly competitive regatta allows us to celebrate the sport with avid sailors that share our Passion for the Sea.”
In addition to Sperry Top-Sider, the event organizers are fortunate to have strong support from renowned clothier Vineyard Vines, the ever-popular distillery Goslings Rum, and Charleston’s premier hotel and marina enterprise, Charleston Harbor Resort & Marina.
Now, a fifth big sponsor has joined this cadre of unique companies – Quantum Sail Design Group.
“Charleston Race Week’s organizers have done a tremendous job in building a respected event that is now one of the largest of its kind in the country,” noted Quantum President Ed Reynolds. Sperry Top-Sider Charleston Race Week also enjoys support from numerous other companies, including many from the marine industry and others based in the Charleston area.
