Wando basketball is ranked outside of the top five in Class 4A for the first time since early December in the newest S.C. Basketball Coaches Association Poll, released this week.

Wando (19-4, 6-1) falls five spots to No. 7 after suffering a 17-point loss at Goose Creek on Feb. 7. With the win over the Warriors, Goose Creek (22-2, 7-1) slides up to No. 3, back into the top three for the first time since Wando knocked them from No. 1 with a 34-point rout in Mount Pleasant on Jan. 21.

Despite the rankings, Wando has an opportunity to win Region VII, over Goose Creek, with a win at home against West Ashley on Friday.

The Bishop England Lady Bishops remain No. 1 in Class 2A girls basketball for the third straight week. Bishop England (21-1, 13-0) wrapped up Region VI weeks ago and is headed toward a perfect regular season record.
