Four CCSD school nurses win Palmetto Gold Awards

The Palmetto Gold Award by the South Carolina Nurses Foundation is presented to 100 nurses across the state for excellence in nursing practice and a commitment to the nursing profession. The rigorous selection process evaluates nurses who meet the following selection criteria:

•Promotes and advances the profession of nursing in a positive way in the practice setting or in the community.

•Displays caring and commitment to patients, families and colleagues.

•Demonstrates leadership and assists others in growth and development.

•Contributes to overall outcomes in the practice area/setting. This year's CCSD winners are:

•Mary Bebensee RN, BSN, NCSN at Whitesides Elementary School.

•Cheryl Dunn RN at North Charleston Elementary School.

•Faith Hostettler RN, CCRN at Harborview Elementary School.

•Sharon Moser RN, BSN at West Ashley High School.

The award winners will be honored at the Palmetto Gold Gala on April 12 at the Columbia Convention Center.
