The East Cooper Newcomers Club hosted their annual Spring Fashion Show, sponsored by Belk. The event boasted more than 200 attendees at the Daniel Island Country Club.

The East Cooper Newcomers Club is in its 37th year.

It was founded in 1977 to create a friendly environment for female newcomers to the East Cooper area who wish to expand their horizons through social, educational and philanthropic activities. They have monthly meetings and coffee socials to welcome new friends to the Lowcountry.

Through their philanthropic activities, they have donated money and goods to the East Cooper Community Outreach Food Bank, My Sister’s House, Ronald McDonald House, Habitat for Humanities, Canines for Service, Florence Critterdon and Meals on Wheels.

The club currently has more than 400 members. Angela Foster is this year’s president.

Mary Ellen Badger, First Vice President of Programming, coordinated the fashion show, which featured casual spring looks and cocktail attire.

Belk makeup artists representing Bobbi Brown, Lancum and Channel, helped to complete the models’ looks.

Renea Yager, Sales Team Manager for the Ladies “Ready to Wear” Department at Belk was the emcee of the fashion show.
