On Monday, Feb. 3, The Kickin' Chicken held their company-wide Employee Appreciation party at Founder's Hall in Charleston Towne Landing.

The owners, managers and employees all came together for a fun and philanthropic event. Employees and guests brought canned goods to be donated to James Island Outreach, enjoyed frogmore stew and BBQ and danced along to live music by local band Soulfish.

The highlight of the evening included owners David Miller, Bobby Perry and Chip Roberts presenting checks totaling $32,852 to representatives from Camp Happy Days, Charleston Miracle League, Summerville Miracle League and James Island Outreach. The proceeds were raised during The Kickin' Chicken's 5th Annual Month of Giving campaign back in November of 2013.

Kickin' Chicken employees were also honored for their service both in and out of the restaurants. Heather Rohrig, of The Kickin' Chicken Summerville, and Ellen Albenesius, of The Kickin' Chicken James Island, were both awarded Most Altruistic Employee for their continued volunteer work with Camp Happy Days and Summerville Miracle League. General Managers from each of The Kickin' Chicken's five locations also recognized two team members from each store for their commitment to the customer and the community.

Over the years, The Kickin' Chicken has donated more than $150,000 to charitable organizations across the Lowcountry. With five Lowcountry locations and over 250 employees, The Kickin' Chicken's commitment to community through charitable giving and active participation is even stronger than before. To the team at The Kickin' Chicken, being a local business means giving back to the community, customers and employees that support you.
