Venice Baroque Orchestra performs in Charleston
In the 2013-2014 season finale, the Charleston Concert Association presents the Venice Baroque Orchestra (VBO), performing on March 4 at the beautiful College of Charleston Sottile Theatre. This orchestra of 22 musicians is recognized as one of the premier ensembles devoted to period instruments, playing the exact type of instrument for which the music was composed. The VBO has received critical acclaim for its concert and opera performances throughout the world. Committed to the rediscovery of 17th and 18th century masterpieces, the orchestra will play a Vivaldi-heavy program dedicated to Venetian greats.
