Whether you're a fan of comics and sci-fi or just looking to spend a fun afternoon with the family, Captain's Comic Expo is for you. Presented by Captain's Comics and Toys and Roses and Ruins Tattoos, the event will take place Saturday, March 8, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and tickets are only $5.

Now in its sixth year, the area's largest comic book and pop culture convention has grown to fill the Elk's Lodge at 1113 Sam Rittenberg Blvd. in Charleston, S.C. and features something for everyone.

In addition to local artists and vendors, guests can have their picture taken with a real-life Mystery Machine from Scooby Doo, with proceeds going towards Great Dane rescue. The Star Wars 501st Legion as well as a life-sized R2D2 will also be on hand for photo opportunities. Kids will love the toys, costumes and jump castle located at the venue.

“Our goal is to welcome people to comic culture,” said Captain's Comics and Toys owner Mike Campbell. “Everyone who attends can find a few good things that they like and have a fun day.”
