Town moves to same day pick-up for garbage and trash

  • Saturday, March 8, 2014

“To streamline operations, improve public safety and reduce traffic, the Town of Mount Pleasant Public Services Department will no longer pick up garbage and trash on separate days,” said Public Services Director Jody Peele. “Effective March 17, the sanitation crews will pick up your trash on the same day they pick up your garbage.”

Garbage includes household garbage and residential medical waste that is disposed of properly. Trash includes yard debris, appliances and metal, and furniture. For proper disposal of garbage and trash, visit us online at www.tompsc.com, click on Public Services and Sanitation Division.

Please note that your current Charleston County recycling day remains the same. For more information, contact the Communications Office at 843-884-8517 or email mwolfe@tompsc.com.
