Wando senior Mark Evans tossed a no-hitter against Colleton County to guide the Warriors to an 11-0 road win Tuesday in Walterboro.
The right-hander struck out 13 and walked just two through six innings.
Wando (2-2) exploded late with 11 runs through the final three innings. The Warriors hit .321 as a team and had six different players drive in at least one run.
Oliver Hill hit 2-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored, Jack Delongchamps went 1-2 with a double and two RBIs, and Noah LoCascio 2-3 with two RBIs.
LoCascio sparked Wando in the top of the fourth inning with a single to center to score Hill and Harrison Smith, and Kep Brown came home on an error. Barrett Walton followed with a single to drive in Payton Muller. Andrew Lee finished the five-run rally with a single to score Walton.
Hill added another run in the fifth, while Brown reached on an error. With two outs, Delongchamps drove a double into left field to score Brown and Walton.
Colleton County helped Wando to three more runs in the sixth, walking in Hogan Kelly and Jeff Gottesman, while Mark Fries scored on a wild pitch.
Michael Thigpen suffered the loss for Colleton County, allowing seven hits, eight runs, three earned, while striking out three and walking three through four and two-thirds innings. Clay Lockerman gave up two hits, three earned runs, while walking four in just two-thirds of an inning.
Wando continues its six-game season-opening road stretch Wednesday with a trip to Daniel Island to face Bishop England at 6 p.m.
