Gibbes Museum presents class on dreams

  • Thursday, March 13, 2014

Nighttime dreams offer an opportunity to access our innate creativity and are the inspiration and guide for many artists, inventors, musicians and writers throughout history. Explore your dreams by learning the language and the guidance for your life in the “Art of Healing” workshop “Wake up to Your Most Creative Self” on Tuesday, March 25, 5:30-7:30 p.m., with Justina Lasley, M.A. “I work with clients to help them remember, record and understand the language of their nighttime dreams,” says Lasley. “My goal is to help clients find ways to reach deep into their unconscious and uncover their most creative, wise and capable nature.” Tickets to the event are $35 for museum members and $45 for non-members.

In partnership with Roper St. Francis, The Art of Healing series includes conversations, panel discussions, hands-on workshops and an initiative that is providing art to aid in the healing of patients who must spend extended periods of time at Roper Rehabilitation Hospital. “We are pleased to present a variety of programs to the public and to engage the community in the ongoing conversation about art and healing,” says Gibbes Museum Executive Director Angela Mack. “Wake up to Your Most Creative Self” will expand on this theme and explore how nighttime dreams provide access to your innate creativity and lead to the healing of mind, body and spirit.

Justina Lasley is the creator of DreamSynergy™, a comprehensive process with proven results for uncovering dream meaning leading to personal transformation. She is also the author of “Honoring the Dream: A Handbook for Dream Group Leaders,” “In My Dreams,” a unique dream journal, and her new book “Wake Up! Use Your (Nighttime) Dreams to Make Your (Daytime) Dreams Come True” (forthcoming). Justina founded and directs the Institute for Dream Studies in Charleston, S.C.
