Only two weeks remain to nominate young volunteers for the Kohl's Cares Scholarship Program. Kids ages six to 18 who have made a positive impact on their communities can be awarded scholarships and prizes, ranging from $50 Kohl's gift cards to $10,000 scholarships.
To nominate volunteers ages six to 18 for a Kohl's Cares scholarship, visit www.kohlskids.com. Nominations are accepted through March 14, and nominators must be 21 years or older. Through the Kohl's Cares Scholarship Program, Kohl's aims to honor young volunteers who have made a difference in their communities.
Kohl's will reward more than 2,300 kids nationwide on the store, regional and national levels for their volunteer efforts with nearly $400,000 in scholarships and prizes.
Two nominees from each of the more than 1,100 Kohl's stores nationwide will win a $50 Kohl's gift card. Nearly 200 of the store winners will win regional scholarships worth $1,000 toward higher education. Ten of the regional winners will receive the national award of a total of $10,000 in scholarships for higher education, and Kohl's will donate $1,000 to a nonprofit organization on each national winner's behalf.
In 2014, Kohl's celebrates its 14th year of rewarding young volunteers. The Kohl's Cares Scholarship Program is part of Kohl's Cares, Kohl's philanthropic program focused on improving the lives of children. Kohl's Cares benefits children's health and education initiatives nationwide through its merchandise program, featuring special books and plush toys with 100 percent of net profit benefiting children's initiatives such as fundraising gift cards for schools, youth-serving organizations and the Associates in Action associate volunteer program.
