A woman was observed by loss prevention officers picking up some toiletry items and placing them in the child seat area of her buggy.
The woman then put her purse on top of the items and continued to shop.
The woman then paid for all the other items except the ones under her purse.
She was stopped on her way out by the loss prevention officer.
Police were called and she explained to everyone that she always places smaller items in the child seat and when she placed her purse there she forgot she had those items. She said it was not her intent to leave without paying for them. She said she had never been in trouble before. She then said she did not want the items she was suspected of taking and then said she would pay for them if she could. The manager then said that was fine and did not place the woman on trespass notice. However she was issued a citation for shoplifting and given a courtesy summons to court.
