The Daniel Island Club recently hired a new Director of Golf to oversee its golf operations and member golf programming. Chris Edwards joined the Daniel Island Club team in February. He leads a staff of 21 and works closely with the club's Golf and Grounds Maintenance and Food and Beverage departments to manage operations for the club's two nationally ranked golf courses, the Beresford Creek course and the Ralston Creek course.
“Chris has already proven to be a valuable member of our team,” said Greg Keating, Vice President of Club Operations at the Daniel Island Club. “His outgoing personality and dedication to member service have been noted by many members, and his leadership skills will be a great asset to our golf staff.”
Edwards started his golfing career in 1995 as a marshal at the Atlanta Athletic Club. He made his way through the ranks at the exclusive club, eventually becoming Head Professional and helping to host the PGA Championship in 2001. Later in 2001, he moved to South Carolina and took the job as Head Professional at the Golf Club at Briar's Creek, where he served for 12 years before leaving to take his new position at the Daniel Island Club.
“I am honored to be joining the dedicated team at the Daniel Island Club, and I hope that my past experience will benefit members as the club continues to grow,” said Edwards.
Located in Daniel Island Park, the golf neighborhood on the north end of Daniel Island, the Daniel Island Club is the island's in-town country club, offering nationally ranked private golf courses by Tom Fazio and Rees Jones and an outstanding collection of swim, tennis, fitness and dining amenities. The club is the primary social and recreational amenity for neighborhood residents. In addition, a limited number of membership opportunities are available for non-property owners.
