Wando and Bishop England both turned in several top-place finishes Saturday at the Mellow Mushroom Relays in Mount Pleasant.
The annual event hosted by Wando pits 33 Lower State schools against each other in team relay and individual field events. Bishop England's Camden Taylor placed first in girls shot-put with a toss of 31 feet, 9 1/2 inches. BE's Jessica Dobbins took second in the discus throw at 97-01.
Wando's Taylor Arent placed second in the pole vault at 11-06, while Gracie Taylor took third at 11 feet. Michaela Roper earned fourth in the long jump for the Warriors at 17-06.
Wando girls finished first in the 800 relay with a time of 10 minutes, 29.18 seconds, and placed first in the 1,600 sprint medley at 4:21.70. BE finished fifth in the 1,600 medley at 4:33.81.
Wando girls took third in the 200 relay at 1:50.28, third in the 100 meter shuttle hurdles at 1:12.16 and third in the distance medley at 13.12.70. BE finished fourth in the distance medley at 13:29.23.
In the boys field events, Wando's Kenny Waring took first with a long jump of 21-09. Terrel Venning finished second in the discus throw at 154-08.
BE's Christian Furmanchik took second in the shot-put at 45-10, while Lawton Fosberry finished fourth in the high jump at 6 feet.
Wando finished second in the 400 relay at 43.19, third in the 1,600 sprint medley at 3:44.72, and third in the 800 sprint medley at 1:38.19.
BE placed third in the distance medley at 11:02.85, and fourth in the 800 relay at 8:39.96.
