  • Wednesday, March 26, 2014

The Mount Pleasant Recreation Department is seeking help from the residents of Mount Pleasant by conducting a Public Input Session in association with the cost recovery study being facilitated by Clemson University.

All Mount Pleasant residents are welcome and encouraged to attend and participate.

The focus of the session will be to gauge the level to which residents value the facilities and programs offered by the town's Recreation Department and how the town can best utilize its resources to serve you.

The meeting will take place at Alhambra Hall, located at 131 Middle St., Mount Pleasant, on Wednesday, March 26, from 6–7:30 p.m.

Your input is valuable and essential to the completion of this very important study and will help determine the future of recreation services provided by the town. Please come and join us and bring a friend.

Let your voice be heard. Light refreshments will be available.

To assist with answering any questions that you may have regarding the cost study next week, here is some information that should help with explaining the purpose of the focus groups and public input session.

Dr. Bob Brookover and Dr. Bob Barcelona will conduct a cost recovery feasibility study for the Town of Mount Pleasant's Recreation Department.

The purpose of this study is to determine if the department is maximizing its ability to generate revenues and operating as efficiently as possible in delivering appropriate recreational programs, facilities and services.

The outcome will be a report outlining recommendations based on input received from town staff, key decision makers, stakeholders and public input using a combination of focus group interviews/activities, quantitative input and reviewing documentation provided by the town as requested.

RSVP with Karen Bedenbaugh at 843-884-2528 or by email at kbedenbaugh@tompsc.com.

If needed, supervised child care will be provided for children ages 4-11 at Alhambra Hall from 5:45-7:45 p.m. Please call Tina Carter at 843-849-2061 or email at tcarter@tompsc.com for details.
