Charleston County Public Libraries (CCPL) is a great partner of Laing Middle School, as reflected at the school’s storytelling event with Dovie Thomason on March 14. More than 120 students attended this event to recognize and appreciate storytelling.

Storyteller, Dovie Thomason, is a world-renowned performer. She was recently named as the Writer/Storyteller-in-Residence for The University of Manitoba and will serve in that position from January-March of 2015.

Dovie performed two sessions for the students at Laing. Audience members were selected 7th and 8th grade English/Language Arts students.
