Fiona Kent of Mount Pleasant was among students participating in the 30th Annual Presbyterian College Piano Clinic sponsored by the Department of Music.
Fiona studies piano with Dr. Irina Pevzner at the Charleston Academy of Music.
Leading the workshop was classical pianist Ang Li, ranked by the 2009 Cliburn Competition as one of the top 30 pianists in the world. Li presented a keynote lecture and conducted a master class. She presented a concert on Friday for the public.
The 2014 clinic marks the PC Department of Music's 30th anniversary of offering master classes with PC piano faculty, a guest artist recital and lectures for students in grades 7-12, teachers, auditors and parents.
Dr. Karen Wisser Buckland, associate professor of music and director of keyboard studies at PC, serves as artistic director.
“This was a wonderful opportunity to see and hear an incredibly talented pianist – for our PC community, clinic participants and area music lovers,” Buckland said.
