Coastal downs Lowcountry Homeschoolers

Coastal Christian baseball completed the season sweep of Lowcountry Homeschool with a 10-1 win Thursday in Mount Pleasant.

Seth White hit 4 for 4 with four RBIs and a run scored, while Connor Barrett went 3 for 3 with three RBIs and a run scored to lead Coastal at the plate.

Cory McDonald earned the win for Coastal in his first appearance on the mound this season. McDonald was nearly perfect, allowing just one walk, no hits while striking out eight over three innings. Cole McDonald and Hayden Riley combined to allow one hit and strike out seven over the final four innings.

Ryan Galloway scored early for Lowcountry off a passed ball in the top of the first inning. Coastal responded with three runs in the bottom frame and another three in the second inning. White drove a two-run double into right field with two outs in the second inning to open a 6-1 Coastal advantage.

Barrett singled to score Cory McDonald in the fourth and brought in two more runs in the fifth with a single to left field to score Jake Fournier and Kai Allen.

Coastal hosts St. Johns Thursday, April 3 at 5 p.m.
