A man driving down Hwy. 17 needed to change lanes and did so, but only after making sure it was safe, he told police. But when he did, a truck accelerated and came barreling down on him. The driver of the truck was incessantly honking his horn.

According to an incident report, the driver told police that he switched back into the original lane of travel and the driver in the truck pulled up beside him and started cussing him.

He said the driver then got behind him and tailgated him, before passing on the left.

The victim told police the man driving the truck had his windows down and instructed him to do so as well.

He rolled down his window only to be berated by the man, he told police.

The suspect then demanded the victim pull over, which he told police he did not acknowledge.

At this point, according to the police report, the driver of the truck pulled in front of the victim.

He told the responding officer that it appeared the driver was reaching behind his seat and pulled out a rifle, but he was not absolutely sure.

The driver of the truck then accelerated and drove away.

He was only able to give police a partial plate number and a description of the truck.

He added that he only called police because of the possibility of a firearm being presented.

Police patrolled the area but did not locate a truck matching that description.
