Center for Women announces new program areas

  • Thursday, April 10, 2014

Hundreds gathered for the Center for Women’s special event titled, “Come Get the Message.”

The message is that the Center for Women wants locals to understand its role in the community.

The event showcased the women and men who are served through the organization and how they have played a role in this re-dedication.

The Center for Women (C4W) began in 1990 as a counseling center for women in life transitions and over the past 24 years, has kept pace with the ever-changing needs of the community while holding on to counseling as an important part of its history and service.

Under the direction of Executive Director Amy Brennan, it was time for a re-brand and a look towards the future as a nonprofit in the Lowcountry.

Effective immediately, C4W will launch a new logo, website and three specific program areas that events and workshops will fall under.

They are:

– Leadership and Development: Programs and initiatives that provide resources, skill development, training and awareness aimed at emerging and evolving leaders in all stages of life.

– Financial Management and Entrepreneurship: Build financial literacy and confidence through programs and workshops, resulting in financial savvy and good sense.

This also includes S.C. Women’s Business Center programs, workshops and entrepreneurship counseling.

– Awareness and Advocacy: Programs that raise awareness and connect with stakeholders and decision-makers to advance women.

“This six-month process has involved our entire team and we are excited to make the announcement and step into the future,” states Brennan.

“The importance of connectivity and building relationships is clear from our new logo design and through our new program areas.”
