“Make It Happen,” a new inspirational apparel company will make its debut at the Cooper River Bridge Run Expo on Thursday, April 3 and Friday, April 4 at the Charleston Area Convention Center and support Carolina Children's Charity (CCC) in the process. The message of Make It Happen is a positive one that encourages people, no matter what their situation, circumstance, age or ability, to be the best they can be and nicely blends with the mission of the charity.
Carolina Children's Charity was formed in 1987 to help local children diagnosed with birth defects or childhood disease access items and services that are deemed medically beneficial or medically necessary. These items and services enhance their growth and development and allow children to maximize their potential. Through the years, the charity has provided more than $3.7 million to special-needs children in the community. Through grants provided by the charity, children have had the opportunity and support to learn to walk, talk, eat and play. Ten percent of proceeds from apparel sales during the Bridge Run Expo and Run/Walk will benefit CCC. This inspirational apparel promotes positive thinking and empowers people to believe anything is possible. Please support CCC and Make it Happen as these proceeds will allow local children to continue to receive grant funding to access items and services needed to meet their unique challenges. CCC provides grants for traditional and non-traditional therapies, durable medical equipment and therapeutic equipment, medical care and much more. The charity's success would not have been possible without the support of local businesses, firefighters and a wonderful community. Visit www.mihappen.com to purchase apparel if you are unable to make it to the expo or event and want to support Carolina Children's Charity.
The 27th Annual Telethon will be broadcast live on the Lowcountry CW on Sunday, April 13, from 1–6 p.m. Firefighters from local departments will begin their annual Boot Drive as part of their biggest fundraiser starting on April 5. Please support local firefighters by donating your spare change or dollar bills. Visit www.carolinachildren.org to learn more about the local charity and ways to support them.
