Wando soccer knocked off Chapin, 3-1, Wednesday at Wando Stadium in Mount Pleasant.
Chapin (10-6) hung within a goal of No. 1 Wando for 18 minutes of the second half. Smith Dawsey snuck a shot through the Warriors defense into the left corner from 15 yards out in the 61st minute to pull the Eagles within 2-1.
But Wando held control (18-0-1) through the rest of the second half and in the 79th minute tacked on a third goal as Alex Bourland set up Tucker Heffron in front of the net.
Heffron led the Warriors with two goals Wednesday. His first, a header off a corner kick from Christopher Corontzes, gave Wando a 2-0 lead in the 28th minute.
Jackson Karolczyk put Wando on top early from six yards out off an assist from Sam Ross.
Jon Milligan earned the win in goal for Wando. The Warriors enjoy their first consecutive home games of the season this week as they play host to West Ashley Friday.
