Wells Fargo support Animal Society

  • Friday, April 25, 2014

Wells Fargo and its team members recently held a highly successful food drive to benefit the Charleston Animal Society. What initially began as a four-week campaign was extended an additional week due to the enormous response of Wells Fargo team members. The overwhelming support for this campaign netted three car loads of pet food, toys and supplies.

“We sponsor many volunteer projects at Wells Fargo, but I have never seen such an enthusiastic response as I did with this one,” says Michael Halasz, head of Wells Fargo's local volunteer program. “Our team members clearly believe in the Charleston Animal Society and all the work they do on behalf of the area's neediest animals.”

“Support like this allows us to sustain our efforts to maintain Charleston's status as the only No Kill Community in the Deep South,” declares Charleston Animal Society's Chief Executive Officer Joe Elmore. “We are so thankful for the generosity of Wells Fargo and its employees.”

At 140 years old, Charleston Animal Society is the oldest animal organization in South Carolina and one of the oldest in the nation. It is also South Carolina's leader in adoptions, spay/neuter procedures, free-roaming cat services and research projects and has a nationally recognized Veterinary Science Initiative.

For the second year in a row, Charleston Animal Society is South Carolina's most honored charity.
