Exchange Club donates $800,022 to local charities

George ‘El’ Rauton, Exchange Club of Charleston president; Tracey Edwards, executive vice president of National Exchange Club; and Mike Jernigan, Coastal Carolina Fair president, proudly presented $800,022 to 94 charities from the 2013 Coastal Carolina Fair.


The Exchange Club of Charleston, chartered on April 15, 1924, is dedicated to serving through support of Americanism, youth activities, scholarships, community programs and its national project, the prevention of child abuse.

The club distributed $800,022 to 94 charities from the 2013 Coastal Carolina Fair. The fair is operated by the Exchange Club of Charleston and has the distinction of being the largest Exchange Club in the nation and one of the oldest service and civic clubs in the country.
