Indigo Road announces new culinary concept

  • Wednesday, May 7, 2014

Expanding their current culinary offerings in Charleston, South Carolina, The Indigo Road announced the opening of a new concept for the company. Located inside the Cigar Factory, the project will feature a provisions-style retail center, a casual eatery, several provision stations, a coffee shop and a 1,700-square-foot casual bar. The space, approximately 7,500 square feet, will be a cornerstone of the redevelopment of the Cigar Factory.

Modeled after Star Provisions in Atlanta, the retail space will feature a series of indoor markets all featuring unique, gourmet food items, gifts, cookware and more. There will be areas dedicated to specialized cheese, meats, beverages, sweets and fresh items such as meats, charcuterie, baked breads and pastries. The counter space and display cases will be movable to allow for a variety of set-ups and events. Plans include a coffee bar, a breakfast and lunch counter serving pastries, salads and sandwiches to eat in or to grab to go. There will be an area for pop-up dinners, demonstrations and events for local and guest chefs/professionals.

Another centerpiece of the space will be the casual-style bar that will feature an indoor bocce court. There is also an 8,000-square-foot private event space above the retail center that will be available for corporate and private events of all kinds.

The project is being designed by architect David Thompson and initial plans call for an open space, featuring reclaimed and blond wood and rustic elements. Expected projection for opening is late fall 2014 or early 2015 depending on construction.
