Brandon Nichols of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina graduated with a Bachelor of Liberal Studies from the School of Letters and Sciences at Arizona State University.
More than 4,700 students at ASU turned their tassels to the left and had their degrees conferred at university commencement ceremonies in Wells Fargo Arena on ASU's Tempe campus. ASU President Michael M. Crow served as the official speaker for the undergraduate ceremony.
Burton Rhodes of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina graduated from LeTourneau University with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology.
LeTourneau University is a Christ-centered, interdenominational institute of higher learning offering more than 90 undergraduate and graduate degree programs across a range of academic disciplines and delivery models. University of Nebraska-Lincoln
Chelsea Erin McCaskill of Mount Pleasant was named to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Dean's List/Honor Roll for the fall semester of the 2013-14 academic year.
McCaskill is a senior music major in the College of Fine and Performing Arts.
Qualification for the Dean's List varies among the eight undergraduate colleges and the Honor Roll for undeclared students in Explore Center and pre-professional programs. Listed below are the minimum grade-point averages on a 4-point scale (4.0 equals A) for each entity and the name of its respective dean or director. All qualifying grade-point averages are based on a minimum of 12 or more graded semester hours.
Rochester Institute of Technology
Kelly Hurley of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, a fourth-year student in the graphic design program in RIT's College of Imaging Arts and Sciences, made the Dean's List for the fall 2013 semester.
Degree-seeking undergraduate students are eligible for Dean's List if their quarterly GPA is greater than or equal to 3.400; they do not have any grades of “Incomplete,” “D” or “F”; and they have registered for, and completed, at least 12 credit hours.

Caroline Brainerd is a recipient of the Dean's Award for academic excellence during the fall 2013 term at Colgate University.
Brainerd is a graduate of The Loomis Chaffee School, and lives in Charleston, South Carolina. To be eligible for the Dean's Award, a Colgate student must achieve higher than a 3.30 average while enrolled in at least four courses.

Wofford College, established in 1854, is an independent liberal arts college of 1,600 students in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Wofford ranks seventh nationally in the percentage of undergraduates receiving credit for study abroad. Home to one of the nation's 280 Phi Beta Kappa chapters, Wofford's historic 175-acre campus is recognized as a national arboretum. Wofford is affiliated with the United Methodist Church
Frostburg State University
Mark Eiseman, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, recently received a Bachelor of Science degree in Law and Society from Frostburg State University, Frostburg, Maryland, during its 143rd commencement ceremonies. FSU President Jonathan C. Gibralter conferred nearly 600 undergraduate and graduate degrees at this December commencement.
Situated in the mountains of Allegany County, FSU is one of 12 institutions and two regional centers in the University System of Maryland. FSU is a comprehensive, residential regional university and serves as an educational and cultural center for Western Maryland.
Three Mount Pleasant residents have recently been named to the Dean's List at Boston University for the fall semester. Students recognized for this honor include Abigail E. Clauhs, Charlotte W. Mooney and Isabel R. Strobing. Each school and college at Boston University has their own criterion for the Dean's List, but students generally must attain a 3.5 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale), or be in the top 30 percent of their class, as well as a full course load as a full-time student.
Southern Methodist University
Blake Barnett, a resident of Mount Pleasant and a sophomore at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, is listed on the honor roll. To be listed on the SMU honor roll, students must be in the top 15 percent of their school of record. SMU's fall 2013 enrollment included 10,972 students.
SMU is a nationally ranked private university in Dallas founded 100 years ago. Today, SMU enrolls nearly 11,000 students who benefit from the academic opportunities and international reach of seven degree-granting schools.
Benjamin Graham Orr, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina was among 856 students from Miami University who received degrees during fall commencement exercises. Orr received a B.S. in Business.
