National Safe Boating Week boat show

National Safe Boating Week is May 17-23 and the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary (USCGAUX) will be holding an in-water event on May 17 at Charleston Harbor Resort and Marina from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Kelly Poe, director of Marina Operations at the Charleston Harbor Resort and Marina, in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, is organizing dock space at the Marina to accommodate display of vessels used in boating safety and law enforcement. The boating public will be invited to meet the crews, view the boats and be educated as to their mission.

USCGAUX and the Department of Natural Resources will also have a shore-side boating safety display booths on the pier leading to the docks to greet and direct visitors.
