The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Charleston welcomes Gardy, their newest four-legged member of the team.

Each night, the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Charleston serves 27 families of critically ill children, calling this house a “home away from home.” These families have traveled to Charleston for their children’s medical treatments and the Ronald McDonald House offers those comfortable beds, hot meals, a caring staff and now a new furry friend named Gardy.

Gardy, a three-month-old miniature Labradoodle, was made possible by Danmar Labradoodle Puppies, and with Jessica and Brett Gardner’s gracious sponsorship. Brett is an outfielder for the New York Yankees and South Carolina native. In fact, Gardy is named for our famous baseball player and has been dubbed the “Guardian Angel” of the house.

“Jessica and I are happy we could help bring Gardy to the children and families at the Ronald McDonald House in Charleston. We know first-hand the comfort and love a dog provides and we’re thankful so many people have joined in to make sure he has the best care from veterinarian services to dog grooming,” said Brett Gardner.

Gardy already has many lifelong friends as he is being groomed by Susan’s VIP Grooming, and is under the care of Dr. Michael D. Forcier of the Animal Medical Center of Mount Pleasant. He is receiving top-notch training from Cindy with Mindful Manners. Even his food is being donated by Royal Canin USA. Everyone is invited to stop by the Ronald McDonald House to meet their newest furry member.
