Golf marathon to battle Leukemia

  • Thursday, May 22, 2014

Steve Meyer and friend Kirk Beilke, whose son, Cliff, is battling leukemia, will be raising funds by walking and playing a 24-hour continuous golf marathon at the Daniel Island Club for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS). The marathon will begin at the Daniel Island Club at 6 p.m. on Monday, June 2, and will end 6 p.m. Tuesday evening. Meyer and Beilke estimate that they will walk close to 125 holes. The club, located at 600 Island Park Drive, is generously partnering with the LLS in this fundraiser.

The golf marathon is a continuation of Cliff's Cause – a fundraising program designed by Beilke and his Wando High School students to give back to the medical professionals who saved Cliff's life, as well Camp Happy Days and Courageous Kidz. This golf marathon, however, will provide funds specifically to support the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's efforts in cancer research and community outreach.

Steve Meyer, a Wealth Advisor with UBS, is one of five individuals nominated for the “Man of the Year” honor through the LLS. Please help him win the title by generously donating to the Meyer-Beilke Golf Marathon for the LLS.
