Police Blotter - what do you want me to do?

  • Monday, June 2, 2014

According to a report, the security arm of a local storage unit facility was found to be broken one afternoon, totaling about $1,500 in damages.

Upon looking at the gate log and security cameras, security found that a moving company was tailgating a client and the arm came down on the moving truck, the report said. The owner of the storage facility said this particular moving company is familiar with the facility and its security measures and have seen all the clearly marked signs saying not to tailgate.

The owner went to look for the movers and found them still on the property, the report said. One employee said he told the driver not to go through the gate because the arm would come down, but he did it anyway, according to his statement. According to the report, the driver then asked the owner, “What do you want me to do about it?”

The storage facility owner called the owner of the moving company and explained what happened. He agreed to pay for the damages.
