East Cooper Medical Center earned a top spot in the National Patient Engagement Ranking, which evaluated the 100 best hospitals for patient engagement in the country. Becker’s Hospital Review and Axial Exchange have produced this first-ever hospital ranking.
The national ranking evaluated 3,077 hospitals and their engagement efforts. The analysis included public data, such as readmissions, patient satisfaction and the extent to which hospitals offered information and resources to engage patients in self care, including social media and education.
The highest possible score was 100, and the highest score a hospital received was 89.6. East Cooper Medical Center earned an 86.1, ranking No. 6 out of the top 100 hospitals named on the report. Over the last 25 years, US News and World Report has produced its popular hospital rankings, but these reports do not specifically call out patient engagement or patient satisfaction.
“Achieving high marks in patient satisfaction is something our associates and physicians work hard at every day. Being recognized in the top 10 for patient engagement in the country shows their dedication to our patients in providing the highest level of quality care,” said Jason Alexander, CEO for East Cooper Medical Center.
