Moultrie News editor Sully Witte and Gary Santos

The Moultrie News and our supporters had a fabulous time Sunday night at Boone Hall. Hundreds joined us to celebrate our 50th anniversary.

Plane Jane lit up the crowd that trickled in after an afternoon rain shower. The clouds parted and the dancers took to the dance floor.

Later in the evening, The East Coast Party Band took to the stage as the crowd danced under the stars.

Sponsors of this event included Womble Carlyle Innovators of Law, Billy Swails State Farm and Wando Family Dentistry.

Partners included Stuhr Funeral Home, McDaniels Acura Audi of Charleston, Royall ACE Hardware, Sweetgrass ACE Hardware, Glasspro and Linda Witte of Keller Williams.

This event benefited East Cooper Community Outreach.

Thank you to all who came out and to our wonderful vendors who provided us with delicious food.

We appreciate the people who have shown us the love by sponsoring and partnering with us for our 50th anniversary. We could not have the anniversary events planned this year without their help.

And we love our loyal readers who have shown us their love by reading the paper each week and by making voluntary donations.

New members of the Love Club include:

– University School of the Lowcountry, $50

– Michael L. Johnson, $50

– Isle of Palms Garden Club, $50

Mrs. G. F. Nunn of the Isle of Palms Garden Club writes, “We appreciate your help in keeping our area informed about our meetings and what we do.” We are glad to help the Garden Club and all our nonprofit organizations in any way we can. We appreciate their hard work and dedication to making our community better. If we have not printed your name, it may be because we did not think we had permission. Please call Vickey Boyd at 843-958-7480 if you would like her to print your name. Our goal is $8,000. To date, we have received $4,217 in donations. It is fitting that we are halfway through the year and we are halfway to our goal. See the ad on page 10B for details.
