Mount Pleasant Recreation Department is teaming up with Lowcountry Lacrosse and Wando High School to offer two lacrosse camps this month.
Lower State champion Wando lacrosse coaches Lance Renes and Jessica Stralkowski will host the Warriors lacrosse camps for rising third to eighth-graders July 21-25 at Park West's multi-purpose fields.
Camp fees are $100 for Mount Pleasant residents and $130 for non-residents. The camp will run from 9 a.m. to noon each day. Players will be taught the fundamentals of the game, as well as sportsmanship, leadership and teamwork in a championship environment. Boys are required to bring helmets, sticks, shoulder and elbow pads, cleats and mouthguards. Girls are required to bring sticks, goggles, mouthguards and cleats. All players should bring a water bottle and tennis shoes.
Jeff Mayer, owner of Lowcountry Lacrosse, and his team of coaches will host the Lowcountry Lacrosse Camp for rising sixth to eight-graders June 23-27 in Park West.
Camp fees are $130 for residents and $160 for non-residents. The camp will run from 9 a.m. to noon each day. Players will work with Lowcountry Lacrosse's coaches on fundamental skills and game philosophies to improve stick work, shooting and position work. Players must bring their own equipment. Girls must have goggles.
