CARTA celebrates National Dump the Pump Day

  • Wednesday, June 18, 2014

The Charleston Area Regional Transportation Authority (CARTA) is giving away a trio of Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 tablets to three randomly selected riders in honor of National Dump the Pump Day on Thursday, June 19.

Dump the Pump Day, celebrated by the American Public Transportation Association and public transportation systems nationwide, encourages the use of public transit as a way to be more environmentally friendly and to save money.

“This year, we want as many people as possible to come out and ride the buses,” CARTA Executive Director Christine Wilkinson said. “Public transportation is an easy way to save money and lessen your environmental impact, and all it takes is one ride to realize how easy it is to put the car keys down and take CARTA instead.”

In addition to the three tablets, CARTA will also be giving away other prizes including bus passes and more. One prize per passenger. No purchase necessary to win.
