Help save an animal’s life this summer

  • Thursday, June 19, 2014

Pet Helpers have been selected as one of 50 shelters, nationwide, to compete in the ASPCA Rachael Ray $100K Challenge. This honor is monumental for the organization and the community. Animal lovers across the nation will be watching.

To meet this challenge, Pet Helpers have a goal of adopting out 1,000 animals this summer. This means that 1,000 homeless cats and dogs in the community will leave the shelter system and find the forever families they so deserve. Pet Helpers are ready to take on this challenge, but cannot do it without the community's help.

Pet Helpers are currently looking for “Angels in the Outfield,” as part of the ASPCA Rachael Ray 100K Challenge. These are members of the community willing to advocate for one or more animals, to help them find forever homes.

If you agree to be an Angel, between June 1 and Aug. 30, Pet Helpers will send you a picture and a description of one pet that needs a home and ask that you utilize your network to help find a home for that animal.

This small commitment can change an animal's life forever. The organization is not asking for money. They are only asking you to “virtually” adopt an animal to help it find a “real” forever home.

Pet Helpers are encouraging businesses to make a competition out of helping these animals find homes.
