The Moultrie News and Mount Pleasant Recreation Department (MPRD) come together each week to feature a local track or cross-country athlete from East Cooper as part of MPRD spotlight.
Piper Barnhart, 9, runs with the Mount Pleasant Track Club. She competes in the 800-meter dash, the 1,500, and the high jump.

B: Jackís Cosmic Dogs
Whatís the best moment of your athletic career?
B: When I got the record in the 1,500-meter dash.
Whatís the best advice youíve received from a coach?
B: Swing your legs up when you jump.
What do you look forward to most about being an adult?
B: Being able to drive a car.
What are the most difficult, and what are the most fun aspects of track?
B: The most difficult aspect is when I canít breathe during a race. The most fun is knowing you placed in a race.
What is your favorite TV show?
B: Zoey 101.
If you could have dinner with any three people, who would you choose?
B: I would chose Becky G., Dover Cameron and Grandpa Terry.
