Chuck Dawley Boulevard is being regraded and manhole covers are placed throughout the lanes up and down the boulevard.
According to a police report, they can be hazardous to your car tires if you travel at high speeds over them.
In fact, police responded to a disabled car in which the driver hit the metal cover with his driverís side tire and the front and rear driverís side tire blew out.
His air conditioning unit stopped working as well, the report said.
Police looked around the area and noticed the metal cap, covering the waterlines below, was missing.
It was found lying off in the grass to the side of the roadbed.
According to the report, the driver said he moved the metal cap off the roadway so no other cars would hit it.
He showed the officer a photo he had taken with his phone where the metal cap was turned upside down in the roadway. The car was towed as a result of the two deflated tires.
